Residents are invited for coffee every Monday morning at the Salvation Army Citadel, New Street, Rothwell.

Wednesdays, 7-9 pm
Rothwell Swimming Club meet at the swimming pool at Montsaye Community College on Wednesdays during term time and teach adults and children to swim.

Rothwell Short Mat Bowls Club meet on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in the Well Lane Community Centre and invites new members, either experienced or beginners. Sundays at 5.00 pm

Christian Teaching and Worship at the Reachout Community Church in School Lane.  This small lively church is open to anyone who is seeking to learn more about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.  Sessions followed by tea/coffee and cakes.  Please feel free to come along and have a look.


Saturday, 3rd May - May Day Celebrations

The Moulton Morris Men will be dancing in Market Hill Square starting at 10.30 am.

There will be a Children's Fancy Dress Competition for ages 5 to 10 years.  Girls, May Queen - Boys, Robin Hood.  Gardens on a plate for ages 7 to 11 years.  Entries to be taken to the Methodist Church by 10.00 am.  A prize for every entrant.  Fancy Dress Parade and prizes at 11.00 am in the Methodist Church.  Children to be accompanied by parent or responsible adult.  Entry forms available from the Arts & Heritage Centre, 14-16 Bridge Street, Rothwell.


17th to 24th May 2008 - Rowell Fair

The fair is held in Rothwell town centre.  The 804th proclamation of Rowell Fair will commence outside Holy Trinity Church, Squires Hill at 6.00 am on Monday, 19th May.


5th July 2008

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Baby Show organised by the Rothwell Citizens Welfare  Committee.  They would like to trace the winners of the Champion Baby Cup from the last 50 years - the names are displayed in the Heritage Centre.  If you were a Champion Baby or are related to them could you please take in a photo, past and present if possible.  They would like to mark this special occasion by arranging a display of all the winning babies.  For further details contact Pat Heald on 01536 507368.


12th July 2008
